Learning happens everywhere.
Genius Kids uses a holistic approach, paying close attention to children’s social-emotional, physical, creative and cognitive growth and character development.
A love of learning and discovery.
Our curriculum supports children being the active agents in their own learning and development. We inspire them to think with creativity, compassion and resourcefulness.
Why give children the answers when the world is changing all the time? By empowering children to ask questions, instead of giving them answers, we instil the love of learning and discovery.
Children are learning every moment of the day, whether it’s putting on their own shoes, pouring a drink or learning about science through a hands-on project. Our teachers’ role is to enhance this learning. Children learn while they play, and by exploring.

Guiding behaviour with respect and dignity.
We acknowledge and accept children’s feelings, and encourage them to express those feelings. The steps we take towards good positive guidance include:
- Setting and keeping appropriate limits of behaviour
- Gentle verbal redirection
- Explaining how to use materials and equipment
- Reinforcing positive behaviour with praise
- Explaining why a behaviour isn’t okay, and offering better options
- Offering children choices and encouraging them to make decisions
- Setting realistic expectations for each child’s age and stage
- Teachers modelling non-violent behaviour for children’s interactions with each other
The best way to get to know us is to walk through the door.
Visit with your child before they start, to meet our teachers and see the centre. Parents and whānau are welcome at any time.
