Welcome to Genius Kids.
Finding a new early childhood service for your child can be a daunting task. Our aim is to provide a secure and happy environment where children develop their intellectual, social, emotional, physical and aesthetic skills, and where you can feel safe knowing your child is receiving the best possible care.

To build a strong community, fostering an environment where our infants, toddlers and young children can thrive, feel safe and be empowered to learn how to learn.
To have a strong, safe professional learning community that is equipped to build and sustain teaching practice to progress children’s learning and enhance their mana and learner identities.
Four values guide how we care, teach and grow together.
Whanaungatanga
Making connections and building relationships
Ako
Teaching and learning with and from one another
Manaakitanga
Showing care and respect
Kairangi
Striving for excellence and personal best
Every child is capable, unique and competent.
At Genius Kids we provide high-quality care and education for children. As educators, we believe trusting, reciprocal and respectful relationships are the core values that empower our tamariki on their learning journey, in a diverse community.
Whanaungatanga and partnership between children, teachers and parents are the heart of our teaching and learning. We offer a culture of creative spaces where every child, like a pikopiko fern, unfolds their hundred languages of learning.
Ko te tamaiti te pūtake o te kaupapa- The child — the heart of the matter
- Whānau — where life begins and love never ends
- Kaiako — foster the path of knowledge and creative minds
- Independence and growth for future generations
Embedded into everything we do.
Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum, underpins our teaching. We uphold the curriculum’s vision:
“that children are competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.”Te Whāriki
Our learning priorities for tamariki.
Trusting their teachers, themselves and each other, and finding the courage to take risks, express themselves and seek solutions.
Growing the confidence to become leaders in their play.
Taking responsibility for their learning, their choices, and their own wellbeing and that of others.
Taking risks, completing tasks and making their own decisions in play and learning.
Building strong, reciprocal relationships, and learning to communicate, contribute and co-operate.
Children’s interests and personal identity are the foundation for their learning and our planning.
For the routines and rituals of the centre, for the environment and for each other.
Trusting children to choose how they spend their time and how they engage with the world.
Respecting and learning about our natural environment.

A heart held by two hands.
Children blooming with love and support from the centre and their family.
Life, growth and the spirit of Aotearoa New Zealand.
The left hand is the centre, the right hand is whānau, working together to help our children grow.
A whāriki mat, connecting Te Whāriki, our national curriculum, with love.
The best way to get to know us is to walk through the door.
Visit with your child before they start, to meet our teachers and see the centre. Parents and whānau are welcome at any time.
